Dance Film Fest becomes
Screen Dance International
in 2018

 

Screen Dance International partners with ArtLab J to bring screendance shorts and artists from around the globe to Detroit Dance City Festival 2018.  Serving as the opening event for DDCF, Screen Dance International takes place in the lecture hall at the majestic Detroit Institute of the Arts, on Friday, August 10.  At the intersection of dance, film, music, and the visual arts, SDI aims to stretch the imagination through adjudicated screendance shorts that are sometimes serious, sometimes funny, but always timely and inspiring. Founded by Joanna McNamara, JMc/Productions, SDI is a traveling screendance festival highlighting a wide range of dance genres including urban street dance, post modern dance, contemporary dance, world dance, ballet, dance theatre, jazz, experimental dance, animation and tap dance.  Submissions for entries are open on FilmFreeway!!! ArtLab J - Detroit Dance City Festival Internship Program

 

ArtLab J seeks reliable interns for our upcoming event Detroit Dance City Festival and general duties involved in hosting this major dance festival. There will be two internship programs, the first will run from March through May, and the second June through August.

 

WHY INTERN, AND IS IT FOR YOU?

  • You will learn a variety of skills on the job, and be a valuable part of the creative and administrative team.

  • You will be mentored and encouraged to ask questions, give input, and receive feedback
